The European Patent Office has approved materials technology company Prebona's patent application for an antiviral drug based on the proprietary substance AgSol, according to a press release. AgSol is part of the company's development work and also forms the basis for ongoing trials in antibiotic resistance. The decision strengthens Prebona's intellectual property rights and provides expanded protection for the technology platform in medical applications.
