AB Gotland Art & Design (G.A.D) is investing in a new cabinet press for its fine carpentry workshop in Hemse, according to a press release. The investment is expected to increase precision, streamline production and free up more time for craftsmanship.The company states that the initiative is part of a long-term strategy to strengthen Swedish furniture production through local manufacturing and sustainable design. According to CEO Håkan Nilsson, the technology will streamline tasks where machines are of greatest benefit, so that more time can be devoted to craftsmanship and detail, which according to the company strengthens both quality and competitiveness.
