Finwire about Beowulf Mining PLC: Beowulf Mining has unveiled plans in Finland

Mining company Beowulf Mining is aiming to continue developing its graphite projects in Finland over the next two to three years. The focus is on exploration, resource definition and technical studies for mining. The company also plans cost analyses, environmental studies and preparations for a possible permit application. Dialogue with local stakeholders is to be deepened at the same time. The company held several meetings in Finland last week for discussions and to present the company’s plans. "It has been a hectic week for the Grafintec team, with participation in the Power Coast Summit, hosting two open meetings and a site visit in Kotka. Early, consistent and open engagement is crucial to gaining support and trust from local stakeholders, and it is fantastic that the meetings were so well attended. Although it is still at an early stage, the preliminary technical drawings for the Aitolampi project provide an initial basis for describing what a future mine could look like and thereby support a more informed discussion," says Beowulf Mining CEO Ed Bowie in a comment.Beowulf Mining further states that the subsidiary Grafintec has completed a preliminary technical study for the Aitolampi graphite project in Finland and intensified dialogue with local stakeholders. The study is described as an important milestone and points to a clear technical development path for the project."The completion of the preliminary technical study is an important milestone for the Aitolampi project. It confirms a clear technical development path and highlights the great potential in the surrounding project area. In addition to advancing the Aitolampi project, we see significant potential in the nearby Rääpysjärvi prospect, which in the future could form the basis of a larger, integrated operation," says Beowulf Mining's head of Grafintec, Rasmus Blomqvist. According to the company, the concept includes an open-pit mine with annual production of about 700,000 tons of ore and around 35,700 tons of graphite concentrate. Aitolampi is considered one of Europe’s largest known flake graphite deposits, with mineral resources of around 26.7 million tons.In parallel, the company highlights the potential in the nearby Rääpysjärvi area, which could in the long term enable integrated regional development. At the same time, plans for an anode material plant in Kotka are progressing.
