Finwire about Beowulf Mining PLC: Beowulf Mining needs to secure new financing at short notice

The exploration company Beowulf Mining warns that it needs to secure additional financing within the next month to fund its ongoing operations. The background is that the Swedish Inspectorate of Strategic Products, ISP, has initiated a review of Bacchus Capital's strategic investment, which is part of Beowulf's financing package totaling GBP 4.3 million. The investment requires approval under the rules on foreign direct investment because the investor is based outside the EU and iron ore operations are considered strategically important to Sweden.ISP normally has three months to make a decision, with the possibility of an extension to six months in special cases. Beowulf and Bacchus Capital are now seeking information about the timetable. The expiry date of the financing agreements is 30 September and therefore needs to be extended. The company emphasizes that there is no guarantee this will happen. Management and the board of directors have deferred salaries and fees since the beginning of 2026, while payments to suppliers and advisers, among others, have also been postponed.Bacchus Capital is reportedly continuing to support Beowulf while it seeks an interim financing solution.
